Yoga Nidra

A Meditation from the Tantras

Yoga Nidra means psychic sleep. It is both a systematic deep relaxation technique and an ancient tantric meditation.

Swami Satyananda Saraswati the founder of the Bihar School of Yoga (BSY) Munger recognised that these complex and ancient tantric techniques had great potential, but needed to be translated to fit our modern lives.  He saw a deep need for a simple technique with great power to reduce stress and suffering. He simplified the ancient yoga-tantra methods and made them both accessible and practical.

 Swamiji Wrote: “The present system of Yoga Nidra, which I devised, enables people who are unfamiliar with Sanskrit mantras to gain the full benefit of the traditional nyasa. It can be beneficially practised by people of any religion or culture.”

This Yoga Nidra meditation will be taught step by step over a period of five virtual zoom sessions by Atma Darshan Yogashram.
