Yoga is a way of life and not merely a practice to be “done.” When defined as a practice, it implies a structure, a discipline to be followed, rather than a way of life which integrates the practices. In today’s world, when people are struggling to find time for various activities, this is an important distinction. When yoga becomes a way of life in all its aspects, it awakens the latent potential in each of us.
Most people come to yoga for physical reasons – usually for some health related issues or for the purpose of general well being. This is a good place to start, because this is where results are most easily seen. Once the benefits of yoga are seen on the physical plane, it is easy to get into the deeper aspects and to explore yoga to achieve oneness of body, mind and spirit.
